A big day to be outside!

Today we had a lot to do. After church we came home and went right to work. Char and I cleaned house while Chris finished up his new swing set for Charlotte. It's been in the works for about a week being held up by a lot of bad weather, but he got it finished this afternoon and we got to go for a fun test ride. Char seemed a little unsure at first but she was having a pretty good time once she got the hang of it.

After a few minutes on the swing, we were off to Gulley Park for our first Easter Egg Hunt. This one was put on by our daycare and I was supposed to go early to help hide the eggs. While I was hiding them, Charlotte followed me around and picked them all up, eventually finding the candy inside. Well when the hunt actually started, the novelty had worn off and Char wasn't too interested. She was more interested in the chocolate and all the dogs running around the park. She got about four or five eggs before she decided she would rather chase the dogs.

Monett girls

Last weekend a group of my girlfriends from high school got together. We didn't get to visit very much since we were all trying to keep up with the kiddos. From the bottom left: Molly with Alice and Ella, Janice with Parker (the only boy - lucky guy!), Stacy. From the top: Me and Char, Kara and Ellie.

Baby in a box!

Of all the toys we buy her, she would rather play with the trash!

Spring Time Fun

As the weather has gotten warmer, Charlotte's been loving being outside. She enjoys just walking around chasing Oscar and exploring. Here are a couple of pics of her playing with the sidewalk chalk and catching bubbles.

From Sisterhood to Motherhood

Some of you may already know, but I'm sure most don't: both my older sister, Laurie, and my younger sister, Valarie, are in the process of adopting children. This is a HUGE undertaking in every sense - mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. In order to help answer questions, share their journey, and maybe even raise a little money, they've created a blog called sisterhood2motherhood.blogspot.com. I've added a link over on the right side of this page. They are just getting started so be sure to check back often.
Laurie is adopting from Ethiopia and Valarie is adopting form Korea. We should have a cute little multi-cultural family and we can't wait!
In case you're curious about how they are raising money, they have been working hard to churn out little gift sets for new babies and their mommies. They've got some really cute fabrics to pick from and they do great work. Valarie is also trying her hand at "silver-plated" jewelery making. She doesn't have any pics up yet but she's already made me a sample key-ring and it's absolutely adorable. Many of you know of and have seen much of the work my mom has done for Charlotte so you know my sisters have learned from the best!

Another Month Gone.

Yes, it's been over a month since I've posted anything. Not a lot has been going on and I just haven't had the energy to do it so here's a summary:
Charlotte got three new teeth in, one a week for three weeks. It was pretty miserable. At the same time, she was continually getting bit by a kid at daycare! FOUR times in two weeks!! and each time the bite was on her sweet little chubby cheek. I guess they really are irresistable! But I think that's passed now, we've not had an incident in the last two weeks. Then, in the middle of all of that, she got an ear infection and was even more miserable for a few days. Thankfully it didn't last long and she was back in daycare after a long weekend.
We made plans for our first ever vacation together. Chris and I are taking advantage of our friend, Andy's, wedding at the Outer Banks North Carolina to take some time off and away from everyday life. We're planning a long weekend, without Char, in June to hang out with friends and play on the beach. Thank you tax refund!!
So that's it. My month in only two short paragraphs!
